Mojonero

The bull Mojonero (ganaderia Hernando Limón) casts a shadow on matador Sergio Flores' muleta (cape). Photographed at last Sunday's bullfight in Tijuana's Monumental Villa Charra.

Sergio peformed few passes on either of his bulls. I assume that he thought their charges were not predictable and thus too dangerous.

Sergio Flores tests a cow at a tienta at Hacienda Tenexac. This cow was deemed the most brave of the three tested that day.

Sergio recently suffered serious injuries at a bullfight in San Luis Potosí, luckily reports are that he is recuperating and will leave the hospital soon.

Recentamente Sergio sufrió heridas serias en una corrida en San Luis Potosí. Dicen que va a salir el hospital pronto. Que le sigua mejorando!

Sergio Flores is a young matador from Tlaxcala, who told me that he has been coming to Hacienda Tenexac since he was twelve years old.

As he was one of the matadors performing at a nearby bullring the following day with bulls provided by Tenexac, he was invited to the hacienda to partake in a tienta (testing of the cows for bravery). Here he is outside the entrance to the hacienda.
